Sheets from a feature brainstorming session at Myedu that I lead with our VP of Product. This was a cross functional excercise that included representatives from all departments. The green dots on the sheets indicate participant voting.
Once we voted and culled down our brainstorming lists, we worked to further expand on the idea for a second round of voting. The feature cards allowed us to go into further detail on the ideas, but placed ensured we continued to keep it at a high level.
After the brainstorming sessions I took the results and created a quick IA map to determine how and where these new features might fit into the product hierarchy.
I've worked with stake holders from a variety departments to concept and sketch new products ideas and have always been mindful of the fine line balance between business requirements and user needs and have worked to develop the skills necessary to know when to push and when to give during the product design process.
These screens are from a MyEdu project to develop a Digital Syllabus that students could use to keep track of their grades and path to their degree completion.
